Great Apartment found!!!
Peeps
Pace has found a very great apartment. Hopefully he will sign the lease on Monday. Everyone cross their fingers. I will after I finish here.
The apartment's location is ideal to me, although Pace does have a point about the view not being the greatest (like looking out over a courtyard or river). The apartment is located in the heart(center) of Centerville (downtown) called Bellecour. If one looks at a map of Lyon you will see a strip of land between 2 rivers (Rhone & Seine). The narrowest part is where the apartment is, in the middle of the strip. It is being fixed up and should be ready by April. The place is not furnished, but the kitchen is equipped. That we found out means it has cabinets, a stove and a sink. They were going to throw out the frig and the dishwasher, but Pace will ask them to leave it. What makes it a kitchen if that stuff isn't there? Don't ask,it's a French thing. Anyhow, the apartment is on a corner so we have lots of windows. Also there are 4 bedrooms. Enough for anyone who has a sleeping bag for now. Just north of us is the Place de la Republique and south the Place Bellecour. I'm very excited. We are surrounded by very nice stores. In fact if I'm not mistaken one of the crossroads we are on is called Rue de Achetes (which I think means Street of Buys)Yeah Whoo lets charge it!!!!
This Thursday will be my last class in level beginners at the Alliance Francaise. So I must go to Patrick's French Bakery and pick up the usual treat for the class. In 2 weeks I'll take a intensive weekend class and then they said I can start the next classes (the first 2) at a prorata basis. That's really nice of them.
The movie this week was two of them. I'm escaping the reality of leaving the USA more often(But I did sent 5 boxes to GA this week). The both movies are indie types. The first is called "Why We Fight". It was about how capitalism is a driving force towards our imperial drive for world domination and stuff like that. I recommend it for you liberals out there. The second is the first in a trilogy from Russia. It is called "Night Watch". I,of course, loved this since its about Dark-watchers(good and go against vampires) and Day-watchers (evil who search out the shapechangers and seers who don't follow the Truce). There is one who is coming who will be stronger than all the rest and will cause the war against the balance of good and evil to arise again. Really bloody and gorey. I loved it.
So now I'm getting ready for the next week ahead. It's now March so the cancellations notices have to go out and I have to get my ticket. And pack.
Jusqu'a je écrire encore (Until I write again)

I hate to shoot down your dream of living on the "Street of Buys" but the apartment is actually on "Rue Des Archers" which I think means "Street of Archers." Alas, don't whip that credit card out just yet . . .
